Cemetery Plot Layout
The layout of burial plots in Ferndale’s cemetery is shown in the map below. There are 12 sections in the cemetery: the first 11 are located in the historic part of the cemetery, and the 12th, the newest section, is called Valley View, which is most easily accessed from Bluff Street.
Burial plots are referenced by section, block and lot in the burial census. To find a grave, first locate the section (color coded in the map below) where the grave you are looking for is located, and then find the block and lot by zooming in to that section. In addition to the map below, there is a link to download a pdf of this map to take with you, and below that are larger scale section maps to aid you in finding the grave you are interested in.
In addition to burial plots, there are dedicated niches for cremains. Ground niches are located in the lower historic district between sections 2 and 3, in section 10’s block known as Panorama, in section 11’s block known as Woodside, and in Valley View’s block known as Meadow Rest. A two-part niche wall is also located in Valley View.
